Ms. Ball has held senior global leadership roles in the life sciences industry for more than 18 years
BioIVT, a leading provider of research models and services for drug and diagnostic development, today announced that it has appointed Lori Ball as its chief operating officer (COO). In her new position, Ms. Ball will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction on operational and business decisions, including growth planning, business and organizational development, risk management, and quality control.
“Lori has the requisite business expansion, global supply chain and regulatory expertise to help us take BioIVT through the next phase of its strategic growth plan. On a more granular level, Lori also has extensive sample management, clinical assessment and logistics experience. Before joining BioIVT, Ms. Ball was president and CEO of LAB Strategies, LLC, a business strategy consultancy in the life sciences industry. Her areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, executive development, and segment analyses.
Prior to that, Ms. Ball served as president and COO of BioStorage Technologies, Inc. where she was responsible for multiple locations in Europe, Asia and North America. She was instrumental in helping the company become the premier, global provider of comprehensive sample management solutions for the life sciences industry, which resulted in selling the company to Brooks Automation.
Ms. Ball began building her international business acumen at Covance Inc., a drug development clinical research and central laboratory services organization, where she was global head of sales and commercial operations, supply chain, strategic sourcing and cold chain logistics for seven years.
Ms. Ball has in-depth knowledge and experience of the global regulatory environment and was co-founder of The Global Initiative for the Ethical use of Human Specimens (the “GIFT Initiative”).
A strong mentor and a passionate advocate for her mentees, Ms. Ball has served as the National Board Chair for Pass the Torch for Women Foundation and is a member of the CICF Women’s Fund Board of Advisors. She also serves on the Anderson University Falls School of Business Marketing Advisory Board and Athletics Alumni Engagement Council.
Ms. Ball has a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Anderson University.
