BOC Sciences Upgrades Organelle Fluorescent Probe Product List

Organelle fluorescent probes are an important tool in cytology research. Recently, New York-based BOC Sciences announced that it has upgraded its product list of organelle fluorescent probes.

In the field of cell biology, fluorescence excitation and detection have little effect on cell morphology and physiology, so it deserves to be one of the preferred tracer methods for studying cell structure and function. As an important tool for studying cell structure and function, fluorescent probes can be selectively combined with organelles. Using laser scanning confocal microscope to observe the combined cells, high-definition images of subcellular structures can be obtained, and the morphological changes of living cells can also be dynamically observed. The combination of immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization technology can be used to quantitatively study the pathological and physiological changes of cells from the molecular biology level, and it can also be used to analyze cell energy metabolism, signal transduction, membrane potential changes, apoptosis, and to identify cell types.

BOC Sciences provides the following series of fluorescent probes for cell structures and organelles:

Lysosomal fluorescent probe

Fluorescent probes can use the acidic physiological environment of the lysosome, the material metabolism function of the lysosome, and the special membrane protein or hydrolase of the lysosome to specifically locate the lysosome. The detection objects of fluorescent probes targeting lysosomes include reducing species, reactive oxygen species, reactive nitrogen species, hydrogen ions, metal ions, anions and biological enzymes, as well as microenvironments such as temperature, viscosity, polarity, and pH.

Mitochondrial Fluorescence Probe

Mitochondrial selective fluorescent probes and dyes can be used to monitor cell morphology and organelle function. These probes and dyes can mark the activity of mitochondria and can be used to observe the physiological effects of certain drugs that can change the function of mitochondria. Typical mitochondrial fluorescent probes are jc-1 and rhodamine 123 and so on.

Endoplasmic reticulum fluorescent probe

The endoplasmic reticulum fluorescent probes are highly selective for the endoplasmic reticulum staining of living cells. And the endoplasmic reticulum fluorescent probes can be divided into two categories, one category is single-function endoplasmic reticulum localization probes, and the other is multifunctional endoplasmic reticulum probes. They have multiple functions of locating the endoplasmic reticulum and detecting the morphology and environment of the endoplasmic reticulum and the active species in it.

Golgi fluorescent probe

Typical Golgi fluorescent probes include C6 NBD Ceramide and BODIPY Fl C5-Ceramide, which are suitable for staining live and fixed cells.

Nuclear fluorescent probe

Nuclear dyes/probes play an important role in cell biology and histology research. According to the different permeability of cell membrane, nuclear dyes/probes can be divided into two types: permeable nuclear dyes/probes and non-permeable nuclear dyes/probes. Cell-permeable nuclear dyes/probes include Hoechst stain and non-cell permeable nuclear dyes/probes include DAPI.

Cell membrane fluorescent probe

DiI, DiO, DiD and DiR dyes are common lipophilic fluorescent dyes used to label membranes.

Cytoplasmic fluorescent probe

In research on cell proliferation and viability, cytoplasmic dyes can be used to monitor the morphology and location of cells. Cytoplasmic fluorescent probes include Calcein Blue AM, BCECF, CFDA-SE, etc.
