Lipidomics, a platform developed by Creative Proteomics, is dedicated to providing cutting-edge mass spectrometry (MS)-based lipidomics services for biomedical research institutions, and biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies. Creative Proteomics launches rapid and cost-effective glycerophospholipids analysis based on a highly stable, repeatable, and highly sensitive system for separation, characterization, identification, and quantitative analysis.
Glycerophospholipids are glycerol-based phospholipids, which are the main components of biological membranes. Considering the diversity of head groups, the large number of possible acyl chain combinations, and the broad ionization efficiency of the species, glycerophospholipids present a significant challenge in terms of high accuracy in lipid quantification. Glycerophospholipids include hundreds of analytes encountered in routine analyses, as well as thousands of substances detectable from repeated fragmentation scans of some samples.
In addition to being an important structural and functional component of biological membranes, glycerophospholipids are also components of serum lipoproteins and lung surfactants. In addition, glycerophospholipids act as precursors for lipid mediators such as platelet activating factor and arachidonic acid. Cell membranes contain different components of glycerophospholipids, such as phosphatidic acid (PA), phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylserine (PS), phosphatidylglycerol (PG), phosphatidylinositol (PI), cardiolipin (CL), lysophosphatidic acid ( LPA) and lysobisphosphatidic acid (also known as bis(monoacylglycerol) phosphate - BMP).
For glycerophospholipids, Creative Proteomics offers a variety of methods depending on the desired depth of analysis.
1. Phospholipid Class Panel
The class panel consists of quantitative phospholipid class scans. Creative Proteomics can quantify all of these classes or be limited to the classes of your choice.
2. Integrated Phospholipid Panel
The integrated panel analyzes all individual isobaric species contained in each category.
“Creative Proteomics is equipped with advanced electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESIMS) for glycerophospholipid quantification. With highly specialized technical capabilities and professional knowledge of mass spectrometry personnel, we are fully prepared to cooperate in the rapidly developing field of lipidomics, and at the same time support your research from research design to the final report,” commented Creative Proteomics’s senior scientist.
After years of technical accumulation, the Lipidomics platform is equipped with advanced instruments, including GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, shot-gun, MALDI-MS, etc. Creative Proteomics designs experimental protocols according to customer needs and selects different technical methods to improve detection efficiency and ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of experimental results. A detailed report is provided at the end of the entire project, including experimental procedures, MS/MS instrument parameters, raw data and bioinformatics analysis to help you find the differentiated lipid molecules.
